God give me might to fight with devil,
Who flatters me to make the Adam’s sins
While I have sworn my Love not to revel,
Now I leave forever and all worldly dins.
I think I forget that I am mortal being,
This life is very short that life too long,
And we are our forefathers following,
It reminds us of a mournful morning gong.
Ah all are written in the Book of Life,
What we do open and all secret deeds,
And with your death will end your strife,
All the sinners in hell all pious in meads
Yea, do something here for the next life,
None goes with you your children or wife.
