My passion and reason both are at fatal war,

258
My passion and reason both are at fatal war,
Emotions instigate to kiss her coral breast,
Reason forbids and sleeping kiss will mar,
My trust and I think let her take sound rest,
I think, you dream my face with killing ruth,
I am sitting there O Lady! In your pretty eyes,
And see your all deeds of childhood and youth,
And your vile will when from sleep you rise,
Remove all mortal thoughts from your bosom
All recorded in life book, we know it or not,
Even our thinking or our entire open twosome,
Every deed is written here be of palace of cot,

I hate you not O Lady, but your jealous thought,
No mart on earth, from where you it brought
