I get not knowledge from heavenly books,
201
I get not knowledge from heavenly books,
I do not read them in my precious times,
But in leisure study your naughty looks,
And note carefully my love's youth crimes.
As a sage tells someone’s future years,
What God has put wealth, fame and name?
But I your humble servants can read fears
Of your love to put into the verse frame
A woman’s eyes, lips and rosy cheeks,
Complex books to study but I keenly read,
Find greed and my mind window creaks,
And concludes doubts and doubts breed.
My cruel Love's eyes compel me to write,
As Jesus did award all sightless the sight
